A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing two men, one fatally, in Mott Haven Saturday evening.

News 12 is told a 49-year-old man and a 31-year-old old man were both stabbed in the torso just after 9 p.m. on Third Avenue.

The 49-year-old man, now identified as Shawn Elliot, was pronounced dead at Lincoln Medical Center. The 31-year-old victim is in stable condition.

Police say the stabbing happened inside of 2690 Third Ave.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the stabbings.

Three shootings also happened Saturday night after 10:30 p.m. in the Bronx. A video posted to Citizen App shows the scene of one that took place on Third Avenue and 143rd Street.

A woman who lives nearby says because of violence in the area, she doesn't let her children outside much.
"I live down the block," says Elisha Miller. "But I don't even come outside because there's been a lot of crime in this area."
