A overnight shooting that began in another borough has left one man injured.
Police tell News 12 the victim of the shooting is a 45-year-old man who was shot in the head four times. He is now in stable condition at New York Health + Hospitals/Lincoln. It is still unclear what led up to the shooting on the Washington Bridge.
According to officers, the incident took place on the eastbound lane of the bridge near University Avenue but started in Manhattan as the 45-year-old was driving his car and was being followed by a pack of dirt bike drivers. Police say shots were fired at the victim causing him to crash, and he was then carjacked.
The car was recovered not too far from the shooting at Cross Bronx and University Avenue.
Police say the suspects are still on the run. If anyone has any information on the shooting, they're asked to call police.
