It's been almost a month now since more than 100 Bronx residents were displaced following a building collapse. Now we're seeing things start to move forward, giving residents there a glimmer of hope news twelve's Valerie Ryan is in Morris Heights with the new details. The department of buildings partially lifted a vacate order after putting barriers between the north and south end of 1915 Billingsley Terrace. So today, some of those residents that live on the south side, which is the unaffected side were able to come by and grab the keys to their apartment on December 11. Th this building partially collapsed, pushing people out of their homes and into shelters. After weeks of uncertainty, the DB says 21 residential units are safe to return as of yesterday. Some people we spoke with here say they are clear to start moving back in today, but for tenants who live on the partially collapsed side, they are still displaced and they don't know if they'd return even if proper repairs are made. The woman in that video is saying she would have to think about moving back here as it does scare her still. And as of now. She is one of those individuals in housing provided by the city while others have been staying with friends or family. We do not know when these individuals will be able to return back home but the dob says they will continue to make repairs in Morris Heights, Valerie Ryan News 12 uh
