Saturday marked a big day for a nonprofit as it moved into its first brick-and-mortar space in Crown Heights.
Women Challenge Yourself first launched in 2016 and it fully operated online for the last several years.
Its building on New York Avenue will now act as a hub for all things women empowerment and community service.
Idaling Brown and Felicia Brown first established the idea of Women Challenge Yourself back in 2001. They say their goal is to help women improve their quality of life. They do so by providing assistance with all kinds of things – from money, to mentorship, to navigating foster care.
"Our purpose is to help women increase their quality of life through faith, spiritual, education, to motivate, and to empower," Felicia Brown said.
Just last month, they donated free prom dresses to local seniors. Group members said it is an exciting moment and having a brick-and-mortar location will help them serve the community even more.
Now that the women have their new space, it is full speed ahead as they prepare to hold their third annual Women's Conference on June 2.
