The Housing Preservation Development is working to make it easier for New Yorkers to buy homes. Through the Open Door program, HPD gives money to buildings based on the depth of affordability.
The more affordable a building is, the more money HPD will give it to offset costs.
The Soundview Park Townhomes is a new co-op building that operates under the Open Door program. It has 72 homeownership units, with 23 units currently available to buy.
Among the available units, 13 of them are one-bedroom units, while 10 of them are two-bedroom units.
The units feature stainless steel appliances, a gas stove, dishwasher, in-unit washer/dryer and an AC/heater that is fully controllable.
"The Open Door program has been instrumental in making this project a success. And we really, truly hope that we can see more of these opportunities come to life," said Anivelca Cordova, a principal at Lemle & Wolff.
Cordova is also the co-developer, general contractor, and property manager of the Soundview Park Townhomes.
