A repeat burglar will now spend 12 years to life in prison, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.
In October, 44-year-old Jason Simpson broke into a Middletown house and threatened to kill a woman inside. He fled when he heard people approaching but was quickly apprehended.
This marks Simpson's third violent felony conviction and his fourth felony conviction overall.
