The famous Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Feast continued in Williamsburg on Wednesday with the headlining event of the Night Lift of the Giglio.
The Giglio is 80 feet tall and weighs four tons. It was lifted and brought down the streets of Brooklyn by 125 men. Families spanning many generations came out to see the longstanding tradition.
The lifting of the Giglio is a yearly event that honors Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, and the feast will continue on until Sunday, July 16.
