The BronxWorks Homeless Outreach Team works to provide services for the homeless.

Its team travels all around the Bronx to offer services to the homeless.

Inside its drop-in location in Hunts Point, there are beds, TV's, showers, laundry services and more.

It also provides medical care, substance abuse services and medical services at the location.

Samatha Campbell has been with the program for about three years and says a little compassion can go a long way.

"Everyone has their story and their reason behind whatever is going on with them, so just don't judge anyone," says Campbell.

After a string of recent weather-related deaths in the city, Campbell says giving people the option of shelter this upcoming weekend is essential.

"We offer them to come to one of our beds that we have available. They can come and go as they feel, but they're warm and safe and have their own key," says Campbell.

Having experience with the shelter system herself, Campbell says above all, she makes her clients feel seen.

"Today, tomorrow, it could be you. We're in the same exact shoes, you wouldn't want someone looking down on you and judging you, " she says.
