A new school is open in the Bronx for children to learn how to play instruments from the guitar to the piano and more.

Classically trained pianist Phillip Kwoka began working with kids in the Bronx when he finished his master’s degree in 2015.

He said he noticed a lack of musical resources for children in the borough and decided to help.

Kwoka opened the Bronx School for Music after several schools closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The school is planning to offer a few free classes as well to help more people from the community get involved.
