A two-alarm fire overnight in the Bronx broke out at an autobody shop on Jerome Avenue, officials say.
The owner of the car painting shop spoke to News 12 saying it was a storefront, so no cars were inside. He got a call around 12:30 a.m. about the fire.
The FDNY responded to fire and smoke at Professional Car Colors on the corner of Jerome Avenue and Clifford Place. There were also apartments above the shop that were evacuated as the blaze escalated to two alarms.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but extensive damage was done to the shop. No injuries have been reported at this time.
