Owner of Mahopac pet boarding facility accused of animal abuse

The owner of a dog boarding facility in Mahopac is facing several charges related to alleged acts of animal abuse, according to the Putnam County SPCA Law Enforcement Division.

Officials say Aaron Pozit, 43, is the owner of Hudson Hounds. He was arrested on April 1 after an investigation into allegations of animal abuse.

"During the course of the investigation, detectives interviewed several people associated with the boarding facility located in Mahopac," according to a press release by the Putnam County SPCA.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with additional information on the case is encouraged to contact the Putnam County SPCA Law Enforcement Division.

News 12 called, emailed and stopped at the address listed on the facility's website but was not able to get a hold of anyone for comment.

Pozit is scheduled to be arraigned in the Town of Carmel Justice Court on April 21.
