A man says his $20,000 motorcycle was stolen from a lot in Riverdale early Friday morning.
Brandon Medinas tells News 12 that he parked his 2016 Yamaha R1 in the lot after a night out with friends. At around 4 a.m., he says two individuals rode away with it.
He says he found out when his air tag alerted him that the motorcycle was on the move while he was getting ready for work.
Exclusive surveillance video obtained by News 12 shows that it took the thieves less than 10 minutes to hot wire the bike and ride off.
Medinas says he had been eyeing the motorcycle for a long time and just purchased it eight weeks ago.
"This hurts because I spent a lot of money on it and now the bike is gone. Every bike that passes, I keep looking to see if it's mine, but I still feel like I'll find it,” he said.
Medinas says he remains hopeful he will find the motorcycle. In the meantime, he asks anyone who may spot it to contact him.
The NYPD says there have been no arrests and an investigation into the theft is ongoing.
