Not even a pandemic could stop the "Friends of Pelham Parkway" from maintaining green space for residents to enjoy.
Volunteers from the organization have been handing out surgical and reusable masks to park-goers every weekend for more than a month.

The organization has been taking care of Pelham Parkway's green space since 2017.
While the pandemic has prevented them from holding group events, volunteers continue to pick up trash, remove weeds from the garden and hand out dog waste bags as more people come to the park in the warmer weather.
"I love doing this for the park because it helps people and it's a beautiful park," says Stephanie Ramos. "Who wouldn't want to help?"
Friends of Pelham Parkway says its events are likely to be canceled through June and July because of the virus, but the group will continue to be outside serving the community.
