Some Bronx parents say they have found needles on a Mott Haven street close to a school.
The paraphernalia was found on Canal Place and 146th Street, just steps away from KIPP NYC High School.
Lining the street are also cushions, clothing, boxes for shelter, more syringes and puddles that smell of urine. Residents say the have seen people using drugs like as heroin, methamphetamines and marijuana.
One mother who spoke with News 12 says she avoids the street because of its conditions.
News 12 cameras captured a man shooting up heroin Friday in broad daylight.
BOOM!Health, which provides services and education to addicts in need, is a block away from where the needles were found. It says in a statement that it conducts daily community cleanups.
The city Department of Homeless services says it canvases the area at least three to six times a day to identify any homeless people in need.
