Parents say they have waited on long lines for hours at FlynnO’Hara’s Uniforms just to purchase the essentials.
One student tells News 12 the whole process is “annoying."
“You have to stand in line for an hour or more and you have to get up early to come and buy clothes,” says student Amelia Francis. ”It’s just a really long process you have to go through.”
STATE OF OUR SCHOOLS: Back-to-school resources
Earlier this month, managers at FlynnO’Hara’s say going early was the best option to beat the post-pandemic rush when they average about 25 to 300 customers a day.
“Once we get into August, it ramps up to five, six, 700,” says district manager Anthony Algieri. “Labor Day weekend, it hits 1,100 in one day.”
In statement to News 12, FlynnO’Hara’s said the national labor shortage and earlier returns to class for some schools impact the wait time.
