Members of the Parkchester community gathered Friday to celebrate Kwanzaa on its fourth night.
The third annual event was held in the Church of St. Helena gym. It featured food, speakers, musicians and even face-painting for kids.
Vendors also sold crafts, accessories and traditional clothing.
The night's message was to encourage parents to teach values, self-respect and determination to their families. Organizers and people who came out to celebrate said it was all about the community coming together.
