Orchard Beach parkgoers say the city's recent decision to shorten parking lot hours is unfair for kids and seniors in the area.
Dozens voiced their opposition during a rally Saturday against the Park’s Department’s decision to close the parking lot at 3 p.m. on weekdays and 4 p.m. on weekends.
Many say they feel like they are being left with practically no outdoor options in their area since Rodman’s Neck has been blocked off since the beginning of the pandemic.
The city Parks Department is standing by their decision, however, saying the reduced hours are in response to noise and illegal activity complaints.
News 12 has asked the Parks Department when it plans to reopen Rodman’s Neck.
