FORECAST

A refreshing Friday is in store with plenty of sunshine and comfortably warm temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s. A taste of Fall-like temperatures makes an early arrival this weekend into next week. Temperatures tumble into Saturday to the upper 60s to low 70s with pleasant sunshine. Some changes are on the way on Sunday.

Sunday morning will be cloudy and cool with light rain. The rain becomes steady and heavy at times Sunday afternoon through the evening. The forecast have been upgraded to a medium risk for scattered flash floods across the region. Plan for potential travel delays and flooded side streets with any training storms. It's still too early to pinpoint which communities will get hit the hardest for heavy rainfall. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to refine the forecast.

The storm lingers into most of next week with cooler than average high temperatures in the 60s and chances of rain through Thursday. Sunday's storm will slide south of New York City on Monday, but still linger close enough to bring a chance of rainfall. However, Monday will remain cloudy, cool and mostly dry.

An offshore storm system will keep weather conditions cloudy, cool and unsettled Tuesday through Thursday. There is still uncertainty on the track, timing and intensity of the rainfall. Stay with the News 12 team for more updates.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy and cool with a chance of rain. Highs in the mid 60s.

Thursday: Partly sunny and a bit milder. Chance of rain. Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
