Many residents took to the streets in Brooklyn for peaceful marches Tuesday night in the wake of the Derek Chauvin verdict.

Several rallies were held across the borough, including in Barclays Center and Grand Army Plaza. The NYPD says no arrests were made overnight nor were any summonses issued.

Participants marched through the streets holding signs calling for police accountability as they made their way toward Manhattan before branching off.

Hawk Newsome, one the founders of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York, said this verdict meant the world to him. However, he added that the fight for justice isn't over and they are calling for the three other officers who were with Chauvin the day of Floyd's death to be prosecuted.
