Pedestrian fatally struck by box truck in Mott Haven

Police say a pedestrian was fatally struck by a box truck in Mott Haven.
The 2019 Isuzu box truck struck the 68-year-old man on Oct. 28, just before 12:30 p.m. at East 149th Street and 3rd Avenue.
EMS took him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was initially listed in stable condition after sustaining injuries to his legs.
Police say the man's condition rapidly declined less than seven hours later, and he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
The 40-year-old man who was driving the box truck remained on scene at the crash.
