Pepe Joe's Brick Oven Pizza is giving out free pizza to kids after school to thank the community for the financial support.

This comes after a fire destroyed his business exactly one year ago. The pizzeria went up in flames due to an e-bike that was parked outside of the store for over 24 hours, which was enough time to spark flames and leave the business in pieces.

It took the business three months and $70,000 to bounce back and get back to serving hungry pizza lovers.

Get a free slice for the kids after school today at 2:30 p.m. at Pepe Joe's on Cortlandt Avenue in Melrose.
