An 11-year-old girl was shot and killed while walking home from school in the Bronx Monday night, police say.
According to the NYPD, 11-year-old Kyhara Tay was shot in the abdomen around 5 p.m., and when police arrived, she was pronounced dead.
Police are searching for the three people involved in the shooting seen in a surveillance video. Police say a man was running on Fox Street near East 165th from two men chasing after him on a scooter.
The passenger on the scooter was seen shooting at the man as he ran away, and the 11-year-old child was caught in the crossfire. Police say they do not believe Tay was the intended target.
