A 17-year-old boy is behind bars in connection with a fatal shooting in Norwood.

He is charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. Police did not release the boy’s name because of his age.

New surveillance video showed three people standing on the corner of East Gun Hill Road and Putnam Place, when one person pulled out a gun and shot the victim. Then, the gunman and another person ran off.

Police said 18-year-old Estarling Peralta was shot in the head just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Sources told News 12 there was an argument that escalated and turned deadly.

One witness said there were a total of five people wearing ski masks and he heard one gunshot.

Peralta was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and later died.

Sources told News 12 that when first responders arrived on scene, Peralta was already unconscious, so police are still working to piece together what happened and if the victim and shooter knew each other.

The victim’s family spoke to News 12 as they returned to the scene and said they were devastated and confused.
