A 19-year-old woman is dead and three other people are hospitalized following a shooting in Wakefield, police say.
The incident happened around 11 p.m. at Shoelace Park. Police responded to a 911 call reporting gunshots.
When police arrived, they found the 19-year-old victim with multiple gunshot wounds all over her body.
A 15-year-old boy was also shot in the buttocks, a 16-year-old boy in the ankle and a 24-year-old man in the groin.
Police tell News 12 that the woman was pronounced dead at Jacobi Medical Center. The 15-year-old was also taken to Jacobi Medical Center and is in stable condition.
The two other victims walked to Montifiore Medical Center for medical attention.
The shooting happened near the Niles Triangle along Bronx Boulevard, a place that some residents tell News 12 is never advisable to travel alone at night.
Police are waiting for the family to be notified until they release the name of the victim that died.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
