Police: 2 pedestrians hurt in Central Islip hit-and-run

According to police, the incident happened around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Hawthorne and Suffolk avenues.

Police say two pedestrians were seriously hurt after a hit-and-run run in Central Islip.
According to police, the incident happened around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Hawthorne and Suffolk avenues.
Police say a dark-colored sedan was traveling westbound on Suffolk Avenue when it hit the unidentified man and woman and took off.
Police have identified the two pedestrians seriously injured as Nasheem Beck, 25, of Central Islip, and Gina Ross, 34, of Central Islip.
So far no arrests have been made.
