A 53-year-old man has died and two others were injured in a multi-car crash on the Major Deegan Expressway Wednesday.

The crash happened near Exit 11 by the Van Cortlandt Park south exit around 2:40 a.m.

Police say they arrived on scene and found three cars had crashed, and three people were injured.

Officials confirmed a 53-year-old man died as a result of the crash, and two others were transported to the hospital with injuries, but are in stable condition.

Drivers are only able to use one lane since officers have a big portion of the roadway blocked off.
