Police say two women were stabbed in an apartment building on Tuesday.

Officials say it happened around 4:30 p.m. on Aldus Street. They say the 73- and 61-year-old women were each stabbed in the chest inside of the building.

Investigators arrested a 23-year-old man at the scene and say he had a knife on him.

Neighbors say they are concerned.

"Security needs to do a lot better in this neighborhood," says Jasmine Hernandez. "It was a lot different before but they need a lot more cameras a lot more security."

Officials say the victims are expected to be OK.
