A 20-year-old man is now behind bars after an attempted robbery turned deadly in Throggs Neck.
Police say Malik Field and another person attempted to rob 66-year-old Wesley James in September.
James was attacked during the robbery and was hit in the face so hard he fell and hit his head on the concrete. James died about two months later.
Police arrested Malik Field and charged him with murder and robbery. No word on any arrests of the other robber involved.
