Police say a 24-year-old man was struck in the head by a hammer in Highbridge on Sunday.
It happened around 12:30 p.m. near 1445 Nelson Ave.
The suspect who hit the victim ran towards Edward Grant Highway.
“This neighborhood is not a bad neighborhood, but it's starting to get a little rough around here,” said one woman. “You got to turn around and look around, make sure nobody is waiting for you."
The victim remains in stable condition at St. Barnabas Hospital.
