A 29-year-old man was stabbed Monday night while waiting for a D train at the Grand Concourse and East 182nd Street Station.
Police say the suspect stabbed him in the neck with some sort of sharp object around 8:30 p.m.
The victim was initially treated for his injuries at the station and then transported to the SBH Health System. Authorities say he is in critical condition.
Two people were taken into custody following the incident.
Police said transit crimes in the Bronx decreased by 5% in 2023. Some people say that does not seem to be the case.
"I ride the train every day and I doubt that. I think crime has gotten higher. There are so many panhandlers and so many bums. It just gets nasty on the train and the subway station,” said one commuter.
