Two men were shot, one fatally, in the area near Lewis Avenue Thursday morning.
Police are looking into the possibility that two men may have been shooting at each other early Thursday morning at the corner of Lewis and Myrtle avenues.
Police say a 29-year-old man was shot multiple times. He was taken to Woodhull Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Family and friends of the young man who was killed say he was a father who was loving and full of life.
A 31-year-old man had a gunshot wound to his neck. According to police, he ran from the scene and ended up about a block away on Ditmars Street. He is currently in critical condition.
Jashnn Singh was working at the gas station in the area and saw the victim out the window.
"There was a lot of blood on his boxers," Singh said. "He was hiding behind the curb over there. He was in his boxers or something, and it was all full of blood. More cops came there and also the ambulance."
There are surveillance cameras in the area, which police are using to piece together the incident.
