people draw a swastika in wet cement on a Brooklyn sidewalk.
The video shows the group go up to the sidewalk’s wet
concrete at around 10 p.m. and draw a swastika before taking off down Ocean
Avenue.
Ocean Avenue is in the heart of the Coney Island/Brighton
Beach/Sheepshead Bay area, where according to the Jewish Community Study of New
York, 59% of all households are Jewish.
This incident follows a disturbing trend of
antisemitism in the city.
According to NYPD data, hate crimes are up over 40%
in the southern part of Brooklyn so far this year in comparison to 2020. Citywide,
the number one hate crime bias has been antisemitism.
