Police: 3 caught on video drawing swastika in wet cement on Ocean Avenue

Three people were caught on camera drawing swastikas in wet cement near Coney Island last week.

Police released surveillance footage that shows three people draw a swastika in wet cement on a Brooklyn sidewalk.
The video shows the group go up to the sidewalk’s wet concrete at around 10 p.m. and draw a swastika before taking off down Ocean Avenue.
Ocean Avenue is in the heart of the Coney Island/Brighton Beach/Sheepshead Bay area, where according to the Jewish Community Study of New York, 59% of all households are Jewish.
This incident follows a disturbing trend of antisemitism in the city.
According to NYPD data, hate crimes are up over 40% in the southern part of Brooklyn so far this year in comparison to 2020. Citywide, the number one hate crime bias has been antisemitism.
