Three men trying to steal used cooking oil were caught in the act by a restaurant owner in New City, according to authorities.
Clarkstown police tell News 12 the owner of Rocco's Italian Cuisine & Pizza on Main Street found three men stealing the used oil from the back of his restaurant.
According to police, the owner saw them placing a hose into the container to drain into oil drums placed inside a van.
The three allegedly told the owner they were buying the oil, but he was concerned and called 911.
Police apprehended all three suspects, two from Haverstraw and one from Pennsylvania.
They're all facing charges of petit larceny and are due in court Monday.
