Three people were arrested Thursday after a police-involved car chase in the Bronx ended with the vehicle smashed into a tree, police say.
Police say the chase happened around 12 p.m. According to police, it all started when officers saw a gray Honda that they believed had been stolen near Morris Park Avenue.
Police say a chase began when officers tried to pull over the driver. They say the driver sped off with two passengers inside.
Neighbors say the car turned onto Paulding Avenue and drove on the sidewalk before eventually crashing into a tree.
"When I saw the car, I said he was crazy, he should've just kept driving up the street," says neighbor Beverley Pinkney. "To think that you could keep driving down the sidewalk, all the way down, I guess he felt that he could get away from the cops. And that wasn't going to happen."
