Police: 33-year-old woman attacked and slashed in MTA bus in Mount Hope

Police say that the assault happened on a Bx2 bus going southbound on Grand Concourse and E 175th St.

A 33-year-old woman was slashed in the face by a man who groped her while riding an MTA bus on Friday afternoon.

Police say that the assault happened on a Bx2 bus going southbound on Grand Concourse and East 175th Street. The man grabbed the woman’s buttocks and when she reported it to the bus operator, the man reportedly punched the victim several times in the face. When the bus came to a stop, the man dragged the woman off of the bus and slashed her in the face before fleeing.

The victim was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police say they are looking for a man in his 20’s. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS.
