Police: 36-year-old man arrested, faces murder charges linked to deadly shooting in Claremont

The NYPD has arrested a suspect linked to a deadly shooting in Claremont earlier in August.

Police say 36-year-old Frederick Freeman is behind bars and faces murder charges in connection to firing gunshots outside 1310 Sheridan Ave. near a school.

According to investigators, the victim, 27-year-old Muhamadou Gumaneh, died at the hospital after he was shot multiple times.

The motive for the shooting is unclear at this time.
