Police tell News 12 that a 39-year-old man was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in Eastchester.
News 12 was told the shooting happened at 3370 Baychester Ave., which is right near the intersection with Tillotson.
The crime scene spread back across the entire block though, all the way to the corner of Baychester and Givan avenues.
Shortly after the shooting, police were seen grabbing a man at a house, where they cuffed him, put him into a police car and then into an ambulance.
However, police say that no arrests have been made.
Police were also seen taking away both a shoe, and what looked like a knife close to where the shooting happened.
The block is residential, with homes on either side of it, and is also right around the corner from the Baychester Avenue train station, so neighbors say it is very busy - especially at the time of day the shooting happened.
"The elderly and the youth, especially while it's hot, can definitely take a different route, like a scenic route, " advised James Prince, who lives around the corner. "I don't think I would do that, I'm a little more comfortable, but, it could happen to be as well."
So far, police have not released the identity of the man who was killed. It is not known if either he, or the shooter lived on the block or what started the issues.
