Police say six men were shot on Morris Avenue Wednesday night.

The NYPD says that a group of people were hanging out underneath a scaffolding located at Morris Avenue and East 191st Street at around 8:15 p.m. when the incident occurred.

They say two men emerged from St. James Park, one wearing a helmet and one without one, parked a scooter and then fired around nine rounds at the group. Six people were struck by gunfire.

Police say five of the victims are men in their 20s and one is a man in his 30s. They say all six are expected to survive.

When police arrived, two victims were found on the scene. Two other victims fled the scene in a vehicle and flagged down emergency medical services. The other two victims walked into area hospitals to receive medical attention.

The motive of the shooting is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
