Police: 2 men wanted in connection to shooting of 5-year-old in Olinville

Police say the child was sitting in a car at around 7:00 p.m. when she was struck in the back by gunfire.

UPDATE: The NYPD is searching for two men who they believe are responsible for the shooting of a 5-year-old in Olinville on June 30. 

Police have identified the two suspects as 25-year-old Austin Morrishow and 26-year-old Curtis White. Both men are believed to live in the Bronx. 

ORIGINAL TEXT: A 5-year-old girl who was shot in Olinville on Friday night is currently in stable condition.

Police say the child was sitting in a car at around 7:00 p.m. when she was struck in the back by gunfire.

Authorities rushed her to the hospital, where she remained in critical condition until recently.

The incident took place on the same street as a memorial for a 26-year-old man who was fatally shot in the chest on Thursday at East 213th Street and Holland Avenue.

Police have not confirmed if the two incidents are related.

Authorities say no arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
