Police: 52-year-old stabbed to death in Kingsbridge; person of interest in custody

Police say Richard Roberts, 52, was stabbed multiple times just after midnight Friday along West 236th Street and Broadway.

A 52-year-old man is dead after being stabbed in Kingsbridge, just steps away from the 50th Precinct.

Police say Richard Roberts, 52, was stabbed multiple times just after midnight Friday along West 236th Street and Broadway.

Roberts was found with multiple stab wounds to the torso. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police say.

According to police, a 58-year-old person of interest is in custody in connection to the fatal stabbing.

A witness told News 12 the Bronx that the attack seemed to be random. Police are still investigating any motives.

Police say felony assaults are up 6.4% citywide compared to this time last year.
