Police say a pedestrian was fatally struck by a truck in Morrisania.

The incident happened on Franklin Avenue between East 168th and East 169th streets around 9 a.m.

Police say a 65-year-old female was found unconscious at the scene with trauma. She was taken to the hospital by EMS and was pronounced dead.

According to police, the truck struck the female while she was in the crosswalk. The driver remained on the scene. No arrests have been announced.

The woman’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
