Police: 79-year-old woman found dead in her Grand Concourse apartment
The medical examiner is working to determine the cause of her death as police investigate the woman’s home. No arrests have been made.

The community is in mourning after learning that their 79-year-old neighbor was found dead in her apartment on Tuesday.
According to the NYPD, the woman was found dead with trauma to her hands just before midnight on Monday night. She was found inside of her sixth-floor apartment, and neighbors say they’re shaken up by the news.
“We feel sad… we are Dominican just like them,” said neighbor Manuel Castro. “This is a very sad case… a case that hurts us all in the community. She was a woman that was well-liked here.”
