Police: 9 shootings leave 11 hurt Thursday night across NYC

Gunfire erupted across New York City Thursday night, and according to police, starting from 11 p.m., there were a total of nine shootings and 11 people were hurt.

Gunfire erupted across New York City Thursday night, and according to police, starting from 11 p.m., there were a total of nine shootings and 11 people were hurt.

Police say the first incident in Brooklyn took place at the Glenwood Houses at Avenue H and 57 Street. Police responded to a call at 10:30 p.m., where a 43-year-old man was shot and then taken to the Brookdale Hospital Medical Center.
Police say another shooting happened at 246 Madison St. just after 12 a.m. when two 21-year-old men were shot by an unidentified man. Both were taken to the NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County.
Police say shots were also fired just after 1 a.m. at 3661 Nostrand Ave., when a 26-year-old man was hit in his foot. He was taken to Coney Island Hospital and is listed as being in stable condition.
News 12 is told there was another incident at 541 Lincoln Pl. just after 11 p.m. That man was taken to a nearby hospital, and is also listed as being in stable condition. The shootings come just weeks after the NYPD disbanded its anti-crime unit.
