Police arrest fourth person in fatal shooting of Long Beach man

Police arrested a fourth person Thursday in connection with a deadly shooting in Freeport.
Anyibel Madera, 23, of Freeport, was arrested and charged with conspiracy and criminal facilitation.
The arrest comes after three men were arraigned Thursday in connection with the incident.
Detectives say police found 28-year-old James T. Diamond, 28, of Long Beach, with a fatal gunshot wound on South Bay Avenue on Sept. 10.
Detectives arrested Corey Grier, 27, of Freeport; Eric R. Baldwin, 25, of Freeport; and Todd Brant, 20, of Middle Island, in connection with the Diamond's death on Wednesday.
"More arrests are expected," says Det. Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick says the suspects all conspired to rob Diamond.
"This robbery plan began when Cory Greer, who is an acquaintance of the victim, became aware that James Diamond would be receiving a check for $55,000 and would be cashing it on the day of occurrence," says Fitzpatrick.
The district attorney says Diamond and a friend were pulled out of a car at gunpoint. The DA also told the judge that Baldwin shot Diamond in the stomach and took his money.
Grier is charged with murder in the second degree, robbery and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
Baldwin is charged with murder in the second degree, robbery and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
Brant is charged with murder in the second degree and robbery.
The judge denied bail for all three defendants.
Madera will be arraigned on Nov. 5. Police are still searching for one more suspect wanted in connection with the incident.
