Police arrest man accused of breaking into teen girl’s Longwood bedroom

Police have arrested the man they say sexually abused a teenage girl after sneaking into her bedroom apartment in Longwood earlier this week.

Police have arrested the man they say sexually abused a teen after sneaking into her bedroom apartment in Longwood Monday.
Police arrested and charged Jamel McIver with attempted rape, burglary, sex abuse and forcible touching earlier this morning.
Early Monday morning, police say the young girl woke up out of her sleep to find the suspect standing over her.
Officials say the 26-year-old Bronx man broke into the apartment in and forced the 16-year-old girl to touch his genitals.
Police released surveillance video of McIver before he was arrested.  
News 12 is told he got into her room by climbing the fire escape and going in the window.
