A 23-year-old man was arrested Friday for striking his
9-month-old son multiple times with a belt, police say.
Alberto Rosario was taken into custody at his home on 115
East 229th St. in Edenwald for
the alleged assault that took place on Tuesday.
Rosario is accused of striking the child multiple times in
the back and feet with a belt.
He is also accused of making threats to harm the infant.
Police did not indicate what injuries the infant may have
incurred.
They say Rosario had
no criminal record before the arrest.
Rosario has been charged with felony assault, misdemeanor
assault, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and harassment.
Police did not tell
News 12 if the mother had any role in the incident.
