6h agoOfficials released the identities of the victims involved in a small plane crash on Long Island that claimed the life of one and left two others in critical condition Sunday afternoon.
The passenger who died in the crash is 63-year-old Roma Gupta, 63. Officials say Roma and her 33-year-old daughter Reeva Gupta were on the flight together. Her daughter is in critical condition right now.
The pilot, who is from the Bronx, was identified as Fayzul Chowdhury, 23, and is also in critical condition.
The plane crashed in North Lindenhurst near a wooded area along Wellwood Avenue and 5th Street. The small aircraft was attempting to land at Republic Airport, and officials say that Chowdhury reported smoke in the cockpit before the impact.
