One woman is dead after a man stabbed her to death early Wednesday morning at an apartment building on Noble Avenue in Van Nest.
The NYPD tell News 12 they arrived on scene just before 4:30 a.m. and found the 45-year-old woman with stab wounds on her body. She was taken to Jacobi Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
As for the killer, police sources say he's the woman's ex-husband.
Police are calling the incident a domestic dispute, something the neighbors tell us they couldn't fathom happening in what they describe as a rather quiet building.
“It's very, very hurtful, thinking about the family, about the children and what's going on with them,” said Kenneth Johnson. Johnson is a neighbor of the woman and lives just a few doors down from her.
“I've only lived here only a year and what's going down the hall is upsetting, you know, it's so close to home,” he added.
Police sources say did the killer turned himself in, has a lawyer and is not talking to police.
This incident is still under investigation and there's no word as to what he will be charged with.
