Police have released the identity of construction worker who died Thursday in a crane accident in Orange County.
Authorities say Lungo Oleg, 36, from Brooklyn, was pinned in a knuckle boom that was being used to offload steel beams from a truck. They say he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened at a popular strip mall on Route 300 in the Town of Newburgh around 3 p.m.
The part of the strip mall was once a Chinese buffet restaurant. It is currently being converted into a HomeGoods store.
Oleg was operating the vehicle as an employee of Chesakle Enterprises out of East Jewett, New York.
While there appears to be no criminality, OSHA will be assisting police with an ongoing investigation.
