Police: Double shooting in Pelham Parkway leaves 1 man dead and another recovering

According to police, shots were fired just before 8 p.m. Sunday.

NYPD officials say two men were shot in the back at 2179 White Plains Road.

One of those men has died. Police identified him as 33-year-old Kemani Smalls. The other is a 32-year-old man who is expected to survive.

According to police, shots were fired just before 8 p.m. Sunday. They say when they got to the scene, they found the 32-year-old man shot in the back. Police sources say the man was walking on the sidewalk when he heard shots ring out and shortly after is when he felt pain. Thats when he realized he was shot. He was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals Jacobi in stable condition. Shortly after, police were then notified by hospital staff that a 33-year-oldman was shot at the same location but got to the hospital on his own. He later died.

Police are still on the hunt for the person behind the shots. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
